There has been much media speculation, but the nature and extent of the UK Government's next action still remain to be seen. However, as well as perhaps measures at the diplomatic level, it is reasonable to anticipate travel bans, visa restrictions and the freezing of assets. It is too soon to say whether any such will take immediate effect, or will be from the UK alone or will later involve the wider EU. Reports presently suggest support which might lead to European coordination of some kind, and (amid further high level change in Washington) in terms of action the US position has yet to emerge.
Russia has also promised retaliation of some kind, and amid demonstrations in Moscow and a diplomatic tit-for-tat some trade measures might be taken. The reaction to Turkey downing a Russian fighter plane in November 2015 was to ban Russian holidays there and much agricultural import, so hitting trade at two levels.
